method of Chinese astrology and fate calculation. While this class is
already available on-line, we have had many requests to give it again in the
classroom. There is a description of the class below, but here are some
      of the details:

This is a three day class and will be held Monday through Wednesday,
October 29th through 31st (10am to 5pm). The location is in our classroom
in Monterey Park, California, near Los Angeles. The cost is $450.00US
per person for the three day class ($30.00 per day for repeating
students). You will receive a certificate of completion.

There is a prerequisite class, AS101 The Stems and Branches and the
Chinese Calendar. This class is available on line, but we will also have
it in the classroom on Sunday, October 28th from 2-5 pm. The cost is
$75.00 ($30.00 for repeating students). If you have already taken this
class, please review it before coming for Zi Wei Dou Shu, as it will help
      you follow the class material.

Please call or email us to reserve your seat in these classes. We ask a
$50 deposit for each class. If enrollment is insufficient, the class

AS201 Zi Wei Dou Shu Astrology
Available on-line anytime or in person October 29-31, 10-5 pm in the
      Institute Classroom
Zi Wei Dou Shu is a widely used system of fate calculation in China,
but is not well known in the West. It is surprisingly accurate in
describing the personality of a subject’s chart. Zi Wei (the Purple Emperor)
is the leading star when making a chart. Dou Shu means calculation. Zi
Wei Astrology has been growing in popularity in recent years. Few teach
this subject, preferring to keep it mysterious.

The American Feng Shui Insitute is teaching this art with the hope of
bringing a clearer understanding of Chinese Astrology to the general
public. Zi Wei Dou Shu is a Chinese astrology that describes your past,
present and future in twelve life categories, including career, spouse,
travel, and money. Zi Wei Dou Shu involves numerous calculations to
locate stars (more than 100 stars), and a complex system of interpretation
based on a lifetime reading, ten-year, one-year and month-long periods
      of time.

This method was developed in the Song Dynasty, about 1000 years ago. It
is still popular in China today. This is a serious course that
involves a fair amount of calculation, but the rewards are great. With
practice, you can understand a person’s true nature and read their past,
      present, and future.

      Prerequisite: AS101OL – The Stems & Branches and access to a 10,000
      year calendar.
      ***

AS101 The Stems and Branches and the Chinese Calendar
Available on-line any time or in person on Sunday, October 28, 2-5 pm
      in the Institute Classroom

The stems and branches are the way the ancient Chinese measured time as
well as space. Therefore, they are essential elements of, and the
gateway to Feng Shui, Chinese astrology, day selection, and Yi Jing
calculation arts. A good foundation in the Chinese calendar is also necessary.

This class teaches you what you need to know about the stems and
branches and the Chinese calendar so that you have a foundation for studying
      the Chinese arts and sciences.

The stems and the branches are some of the oldest Chinese characters.
They were often found on the oracle bones, making them more than 4000
years old. They represent the cycles of heaven and earth, and have a
profound effect on our well-being. They are based on yin and yang and the
five elements, but have many other aspects to them.

Most Westerners do not know that the Chinese have always had a solar
calendar as well as a lunar one. In this class, you learn to understand
these two aspects of the Chinese calendar, as well as the Chinese view
of the seasons. In addition, you learn how to convert a date from the
Western calendar into the Chinese calendar.

In the old days in China, this material would need to be mastered
before a teacher would even begin Feng Shui instruction. However, today in
the West it is more often taught after a student has studied Feng Shui
for a certain period of time. Our recommendation is that the student
already has some familiarity with the foundation theories of yin yang and
      the five elements.

This class is theoretical in nature. Practical application of the stems
and branches are given in other classes, such as day selection, zi wei
dou shu astrology, four pillars, yi jing calculation arts, and more
advanced Feng Shui methods. The material in this class is NOT intuitive.
It is calculation-based. This class is for those who are serious about
deepening their ability to work with the Chinese calculation arts.

This class is a prerequisite for Zi Wei Dou Shu and other classes. You
need a Ten-Thousand Year Calendar for the class and for Zi Wei Dou Shu.
This is available as an ebook on our web page.
